Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has sparked conversations online with his unconventional stance on diet and food consumption.

Jim Iyke described food as a hindrance to his energy levels and productivity, noting that he feels most effective when he’s hungry. According to him, consuming food too often slows him down and signals his body to relax or shut down for the day.
“I eat once a day,” he said. “Food sounds like a disruptor for me. Once I eat, it’s downhill. I think my energy is pure and unbridled when I don’t eat.”
He argued that many people overestimate the role of food in their daily routines, calling it a “scam” and suggesting that society’s obsession with meals is driven more by culture and comfort than necessity.
Jim Iyke also highlighted how overfeeding can mentally trick people into slowing down their day and losing drive. He said it’s not unusual for him to avoid meals completely when he wants to stay focused and alert.
His remarks have sparked mixed reactions, especially from health experts who warn that such restrictive eating may not be suitable for everyone. While some agree that intermittent fasting or reduced meal frequency can have benefits, most medical professionals maintain that balanced and regular nutrition is essential for general well-being.
