JIMAF Urges Jigawa State Governor to Sign Primary Healthcare Bill
The Jigawa State Maternal Newborn and Child Health Accountability Forum (JIMAF) is urging Governor Umar Namadi to sign the revised Jigawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency bill into law.
The Secretary of JIMAF, Isah Mustapha, emphasized the importance of this bill in strengthening primary healthcare, promoting equitable distribution of human resources for health, and enhancing service delivery.
Mustapha also praised the state government for allocating 12.1% of its 2024 annual budget to the health sector and approving one billion Naira for enrolling an additional 149,240 poor and less privileged persons.
JIMAF appealed to the government to expedite the release of funds for the enrollment exercise to ensure timely access to services for the targeted beneficiaries.
The group expressed gratitude to all development partners for their support in improving health indicators in the state.
