APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe has expressed deep concerns about Nigeria’s current state, declaring that the leaders who will truly rescue the country are yet to be born.

His remarks come as food prices, particularly rice, skyrocket across the nation.

Posting on Facebook, Igbokwe revealed the soaring cost of a bag of rice, which now exceeds ₦100,000.

He lamented the situation, questioning why the country faces such difficulties despite its numerous rice mills.

“With all the rice mills we have in Nigeria, my wife just told me that a bag of rice is now ₦100k plus,” he wrote.

The prominent APC figure, known for his staunch support of President Bola Tinubu, has recently begun to voice his dissatisfaction with some of the administration’s policies.

“Without sounding immodest, I am constrained to say that the men and women that will rescue this country from self-inflicted pains and tears are not born yet,” Igbokwe added, emphasising the gravity of the nation’s challenges.

His remarks highlight growing public frustration over the rising cost of living in Nigeria.
