A proposal by Nigeria’s Minister of education has been met with different opinions, over the one year National Youth Service corp, NYSC program.
The Minister of education, Olatunji Alausa, made his suggestion known after the new DG of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu visited his office in Abuja on Friday, April 4.
He also commended the body, following the massive reduction in forged documents and certificates.
Alausa advocated “for the extension of national service from one to two years, with the expansion of NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Training programme content for Corps Members.”
“You have done so well as an organization. Let NYSC give people more opportunity to become job creators that will meet the needs of the country”, the minister said
