Kano govt cautioned against intimidating Ganduje

An association under the auspices of Kano Concerned Forum (KCF) has condemned the Kano State government’s plan to probe the administration of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

“To bring back an old and expired line of investigating the past administration is tantamount to self-admission of failure,” the group said.

Disclosing this on Saturday when addressing journalists, the secretary of the forum, Comrade Auwal Shu‘aib, said the present government should focus on how to move the state forward.

“Elections have been done and dusted. Now is the time to deliver to the Kano people good governance and the dividends of democracy,” he said.

He stated that if the Gov Abba-led government had a clear roadmap for development, it wouldn’t be wasting its precious time on frivolous issues of investigating the Ganduje administration and his family.

Shu‘aib said, “Because Kano people are overwhelmed with existential challenges like high cost of living, hyperinflation, and want.”

“It is almost a year since the government took over, but has not achieved a major milestone, and we wonder why it is wasting time on what is not tenable,” he added.

He further stated, “Kano people are more concerned about getting themselves out of the doldrums they are in.

“The federal government has massively supported the state government to ease the current hardship, and we in Kano are waiting to see how the government will bring succor to us.

“Therefore, this needless, politically motivated committee is nothing but vendetta aimed at servicing the ego of some interests within the state,” he concluded.

Earlier, the forum’s co-convener, Ambassador Abdullahi Mohammed, berated the government for the perceived injustice and partiality in setting up the mandate and scope of the committee.
