Kano Police Arrest Man Over Sister’s Boyfriend’s Murder

• The police force in Kano state have arrested a suspected murderer in the state.

• The suspect was said to have killed his sister’s boyfriend, with a stick.

Men of the kano state police command have apprehended one Mansur Umar, for alleged murder.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the 25-year-old suspect was said to have killed his sister’s boyfriend during a visit.

The incident reportedly happened in Kunya Village, Minjibir local government area of the State in the evening of Friday, May 9, 2025 around 9:30pm.

The victim, identified as Sulaiman Musa, also a 25-year-old had gone to visit his girlfriend, Fiddausi Umar when he got attacked by her brother.

Confirming the incident in press release, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawal said it was during the visit that Fiddausi’s brother, Mansur struck Sulaiman on the head with a stick, thereby inflicting an injury on his head.

Sulaiman was subsequently rushed to Kunya Cottage Hospital and later referred to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 12:50am on Saturday.

The suspect has been taken into custody, as investigation proceeds.
