The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has sealed EMCEL Court Phase I and Well Stock Apartments, both located in Ikota GRA, Eti-Osa, for allegedly channeling untreated wastewater into public drains and the surrounding environment.
The action was made public by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, through a statement issued on his official X account on Monday.

Wahab explained that investigations revealed the facilities were “deliberately discharging wastewater into public drains and the environment, thereby causing public nuisance, environmental pollution, and endangering human life.”
He further noted that on September 8, 2025, the LSWMO enforcement team sealed the affected properties on Lantana Avenue after confirming the infractions.
The Commissioner urged Lagosians, particularly property owners, to embrace proper wastewater treatment, emphasizing that “environmental sustainability and public health depend on strict compliance with sanitation standards.”
