Kris Kristofferson, the legendary American country singer, has passed away. He died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the age of 88.
His family shared the news in a heartfelt statement on Sunday, saying, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, Kris Kristofferson. He left us peacefully at home. We are all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these years, and when you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all.”

Kristofferson’s career as a songwriter solidified his status as a country music icon, with memorable hits like “Sunday Morning Coming Down,” “For the Good Times,” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night.”
Throughout his career, he won three Grammy Awards, including one for Best Country Song for “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” as well as two duet awards with his ex-wife, Rita Coolidge.
