Man Arrested For Abducting Two-year-old In Sokoto

• Operatives of the Sokoto state police command have arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping a minor in the state.

• Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the man is said to have kidnapped his neighbor’s Two-year-old child.

The police operatives in Sokoto state have arrested a man, identified as Abba Aliyu, 18-year-old, for allegedly kidnapping a young boy.

According to reports, the suspect was said to have kidnapped his neighbor’s Two-year-old son and demanded a two million naira ransom.

Confirming the incident and arrest, the police spokesperson, ASP Ahmad Rufai said the suspect waa arrested following a report to the anti-kidnapping unit attacked to the command.

He added that the suspect had contacted the victim’s parents, demanding for a sum of two million naira, but the frightened parents could only pay five hundred thousand naira before the child was released.

Detectives swiftly coordinated intelligence-led operations, tracing the suspect’s location at Badon hanya behind Zamson filling station which led to his arrest. During the investigation, the suspect confessed to having kidnapped the victim and held him, hostage, to extort money from his parent, while one Tecno android mobile was used in demanding the ransom was recovered from him.”

Rufai added that the suspect who has confessed to the crime will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation is completed.
