Man Arrested For Rape, After Teen Dies During Childbirth

• A man has been arrested following the demise of a girl during childbirth.

• According to reports, the man allegedly impregnated the girl, leading to the pregnancy.

• He reportedly raped and abandoned her, leading to her demise during childbirth.

The police force in Ogun state has arrested one Azeez Oladimeji, a 23-year-old man for rape.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the suspect allegedly defiled and impregnated a 17-year-old girl, identified as Bisola Ganiyu, who kicked the bucket during childbirth.

The incident happened in the Ajuwon community of the Ifo Local Government Area.

Confirming this to Punch, the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Omolola Odutola said the matter was reported to the police station by Egbekunle, the victim’s father, who said the suspect impregnated the girl and refused to take responsibility of it.

He added that she died shortly after going through a Cesarean Section on Tuesday, January 28.

The newborn baby survived the ordeal, but unfortunately the 17-year-old mother succumbed to her complications.

“The suspect impregnated a 17-year-old girl. The father accused the suspect of abandoning the girl and pregnancy. Following the heartbreaking incident, detectives from Ajuwon Division promptly visited the hospital. Bisola’s body was retrieved and deposited at the Life Channel Mortuary, Olambe, while the suspect, Azeez Oladimeji, has been arrested as investigations into the case continue.”the PPRO said
