Man Sets Self, Family House On Fire After Argument With Wife

  • Daily Report Nigeria gathers that a man set his family house on fire, following an argument with his wife.

A man, identified as Mr Onyiuke Nwedeogu has succumbed to his injuries, after allegedly setting himself and his family house on fire.

According to an eye witnesses, the incident, which reportedly happened at Ndiechi Igbeagu in Izzi Local Government Area in he early hours of Sunday morning.

The man was said to have had an argument with his wife, Mrs. Felicia Nwedeogu, which led to physical aggression.

According to an anonymous eyewitness, the altercation began on Sunday when Nwedeogu had a dispute with his wife, leading to physical aggression.

He then went to his parents house with the hopes of cooling out, but returned back, which he got into the house through a window, and, with a can of motor spirit, set the home on fire while his family, his wife and three children slept.

“It was terrifying,” a witness recounted. “He poured the fuel and lit the house with everyone inside.”

His wife and children were reportedly reached through the same window he broke in with.

The man, Jo had attempted to flee the scene was taken to Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital (AE-FETHA), where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

The family survived with minimal belongings, wearing only a wrapper and children’s pants at their rescue.

DSP Joshua Ukandu, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the incident had not been officially reported to the command yet. The deceased’s body has been taken to the AE-FETHA morgue.
