Man Strips, Beats Mother ‘For Hating Wife’

• A man has been arraigned before a court of law following a brutal assault of his mother.

• The man was said to have stripped and flogged his mother for reportedly hating on his wife.

A man has been arrested and arraigned before a court for alleged case of assault of his mother.

According to reports, the man, a 23-year-old accused his mother of hating his wife, proceeded to hit her with an iron rod.

This happened in Mncedisi Village, Lower Gweru, Zimbabwe on November 18, 2024.

He was said to have confronted his mother, before using the iron rod, targeting her left eye, forehead, and other parts of her body. When she attempted to flee, he reportedly stripped her naked.

Her screams for help alerted neighbours, who intervened and managed to rescue her from further harm.

She was rushed to an hospital, where it was gathered that she sustained severe injuries, including a deep cut on her forehead and swelling around her left eye.

The man was subsequently arrested and charged to the Gweru Magistrates Court, where he was found him guilty of the charges on November 29, 2024.

He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to court on December 3, 2024, for sentencing.
