According to the NBS Petrol Price Watch for November 2024, the average retail price of petrol increased by 87.10% from N648.93 in November 2023 to N1,214.17 in November 2024.
The NBS also stated that the average retail price of diesel increased by 37.07% from N1,055.57 in November 2023 to N1,446.83 in November 2024.

The prices varied across states, with Benue paying the highest average retail price for petrol (N1,365.16) and Bauchi paying the highest average price for diesel (N2,232.04).
The NBS report further stated that “on a month-on-month basis, the price of petrol increased by 2.48% from N1,184.83 in October 2024, while the price of diesel increased by 0.38% from N1,441.28 in October 2024.”
Over 1.1 Million Nigerians Displaced, Says NBS
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has reported that over 1.1 million Nigerians have been internally displaced, with a staggering 877,299 individuals driven from their homes due to ongoing conflict and violence.
The new figures show that 251,082 households across seven states have been affected by internal displacement.
