Equatorial Guinea’s President, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, will join fellow African Heads of State, global investors, and leading energy executives at the inaugural Africa Energy Investment Summit (AEInvest 2025), scheduled for September 25 in New York.

President Mbasogo, whose country is a founding member of the Africa Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO) and one of Africa’s top oil and gas producers, is the latest African leader to confirm attendance.

His participation underscores Equatorial Guinea’s role in advancing energy investment across the continent and highlights the country’s leadership in driving infrastructure development, job creation, and innovation.

Hosted by APPO, AEInvest 2025 will bring together international investors, policymakers, and energy leaders to unlock critical capital flows for Africa’s energy sector.

The high-profile gathering is expected to elevate Africa’s position in global energy investment discourse, accelerate sustainable development, and foster new strategic partnerships.

“Africa stands at a decisive moment in its energy journey. AEInvest 2025 offers a unique platform to showcase the continent’s vast energy potential, attract vital capital, and promote sustainable growth,” Secretary General, APPO, Omar Farouk Ibrahim, said.

“We are proud of Equatorial Guinea and other member states for championing this transformative effort to align Africa’s energy ambitions with global investment opportunities.”, he stated.

The summit comes at a time of rapid shifts in the global energy landscape, presenting Africa with a unique chance to strengthen energy security, expand infrastructure, and lead in sustainable solutions.

“This summit is not just about investment—it is about unlocking Africa’s full potential,” said James Shindi, Chief Executive Officer of Brevity Anderson, producers of the event. “By creating this platform, we are channeling capital, innovation, and partnerships that will deliver growth and opportunities for generations to come.”

AEInvest 2025 will feature keynote addresses from African Heads of State, United Nations representatives, and industry leaders. The program will also include panel discussions on investment opportunities, regulatory reforms, and successful energy models, alongside high-level networking sessions connecting African governments with U.S. financial institutions and global energy players.

By convening in New York, at the center of the world’s financial ecosystem, AEInvest 2025 aims to unlock untapped capital from Wall Street and beyond, bolster investor confidence in Africa’s energy sector, and promote technology transfer, sustainable growth, and job creation.

Organised by APPO, the summit will run alongside the 80th United Nations General Assembly, ensuring maximum global engagement and visibility.
