APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured Nigerians that the nation’s economy is on the path to recovery, promising significant improvements in the coming months.

Speaking during the launch of the Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Strategy Document and Gender Transformative Human Capital Development Policy Framework in Lafia, Shettima emphasized the administration’s goal of empowering citizens with skills that meet global standards.

“Our economy has started improving, and it will bounce back,” Shettima stated. He highlighted the need to address the alarming unemployment rate and the expanding informal sector, asserting that reversing these trends is crucial for the country’s progress.

The Vice President pointed out that the Human Capital Development (HCD) Programme is designed to combat the adverse effects of high fertility rates, maternal mortality, and inadequate education.

“Enough is enough,” he declared, calling for a collective effort to elevate Nigeria’s human capital standards.

Shettima underscored that every Nigerian child must have access to quality education and equitable healthcare, stressing the importance of equipping the workforce with skills necessary for success in the 21st-century economy.

“Nasarawa State’s commitment to the HCD Programme is a lifeline for our nation,” he added.

Echoing Shettima’s sentiments, Senator Ahmed Wadada (SDP-Nasarawa West) emphasized that education is fundamental to human development, asserting, “The most important creatures are humans, and they must be equipped to succeed in their endeavors.”
