‘Nigerian Leaders Are Not Committed’ – Former CBN Gov

1 week ago 10

Kingsley Moghalu, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has criticized Nigerian leaders for lacking a genuine commitment to addressing the country’s challenges.

Moghalu made the claim in a recent post on the X app ( formerly known as Twitter).

According to him, they are more invested in political maneuvering, seeking personal gains, and appointing unqualified individuals based on favoritism and ethnic loyalty.

The Ex-CBN Governor stated that a combination of knowledge, competence, expertise, and political will is essential to solving Nigeria’s problems, rather than relying on superficial solutions.

He said:

The tragedy of Nigeria is that many of its leaders are not truly interested in solving the country’s problems.

“They are more focused on politics, rent-seeking, and picking sycophants and ethnic journeymen for jobs they can’t perform. But problems can’t solve themselves.

“It’s knowledge, competence and expertise, plus political will, that solves problems. To bring these factors together to fix Nigeria’s problems requires real #Leadership.

“This is a concept that can incorporate politics, but goes well beyond it. #LeadershipMatters.”
