The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has plunged into a fresh crisis following the suspension of key officials, including the State Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, and the Commissioner of Transportation, Muhammad Diggol.
The suspension, announced by the State Party Chairman, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, reflects escalating tensions within the party.
In a statement made during an interview with Daily Trust, Dungurawa revealed that the decision was prompted by serious allegations against the suspended officials, including disloyalty and abuse of power.

He emphasized that their actions were detrimental to the party’s unity and effectiveness, stating, “We are announcing today that we have suspended the SSG Abdullahi Baffa Bichi and the Commissioner of Transportation, Muhammad Diggol over abuse of power, office, and disloyalty to the party.”
The chairman noted that complaints from party members in their home locality of Bichi north were instrumental in the decision. “We commend the leadership of the party from their wards and the Local Government for bringing the issue to us in written form. As leaders, we sat and considered that this is the best decision to take until we complete our investigation,” he added.
Ajuji Ahmed has been appointed as the acting national chairman, taking over amidst this leadership upheaval.
