Omo-Agege Pays Tribute to Late Udu Monarch, Hails His Legacy of Unity and Development

  • Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has mourned the death of the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Bethel Otete Delekpe, Owhorhu I, who died at 85.

Former Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Barrister Emmanuel Bethel Otete Delekpe, Owhorhu I, who passed away at the age of 85.

This was contained in a statement signed by Sunny Areh, Media Adviser to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, in which the lawmaker commiserated with the Urhobo nation and the people of Udu Kingdom on the monarch’s passing.

Senator Omo-Agege hailed the late royal father as a visionary leader under whose reign the Udu Kingdom experienced remarkable transformation and unity.

He noted that Owhorhu I played a pivotal role in fostering development and empowering the people of the kingdom.

The senator reiterated the monarch’s contributions to community development and praised his ability to lead with wisdom and inclusiveness, bringing progress to his domain.

“The royal father superintended over the evolution of Udu into a major kingdom where its sons and daughters excelled and contributed to the development of the community. It takes wisdom, humility and eclectic management of human resources to be able to bring his people together under one common agenda. HRM Owhorhu I was a father to all and earned the respect and loyalty of his people,” Omo-Agege said.

He described the monarch’s passing as a “profound loss not only to Udu Kingdom but to the Urhobo nation at large,” and offered prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul.
