The Ijaw Youth Council, Western Zone, has mourned the death of Ijaw national leader, Pa Edwin Clark.
Daily Report Nigeria recalls that Pa Clark died on Monday, February 17, 2025, as announced by the family at the age of 97.
The group comprising of Ijaw youths in Delta, Edo, and Ondo states described the late elder statesman as a visionary icon who was a “champion of justice and a tireless advocate for the rights and development of the Niger Delta people”.

The IYC described Clark’s contributions to the growth and advancement of the Niger Delta as “immeasurable”.

“Clark’s impact on the Niger Delta region is evident in his efforts to promote education, healthcare, and economic development,” IYC Western Zone Chairman, Igarama said.
“We remember Chief Clark as a courageous and principled leader who stood firm in his convictions, even in the face of adversity.
“His commitment to justice, equity, and good governance inspired countless individuals and groups to work towards a better future for the Niger Delta people.

“As we mourn the passing of this great leader, we also celebrate his life, legacy, and achievements.
“We honour his memory by reaffirming our commitment to the values he represented: justice, equality, and service to humanity,” the group added.
