Paris FC winger Moses Simon has expressed gratitude to his former club, FC Nantes, after receiving a touching tribute during a pre-season friendly between the two sides last weekend.
The Super Eagles winger returned to the Stade de la Beaujoire for the first time since completing a €7 million move to Paris FC this summer, following a successful six-year spell with Les Canaris.
Nantes paid tribute to Simon’s contributions with a special guard of honour, loud applause from the home supporters, and the presentation of a commemorative plaque.
Simon, 29, was visibly moved by the warm reception and took to social media afterward to show his appreciation.
“Thank you for the warm welcome at FC Nantes. Honoured by the tribute and grateful to play again in front of the amazing Nantes fans. It was also special to reunite with my former teammates,” Simon wrote on X.
Saturday’s friendly ended in a 3–2 victory for Paris FC, but the evening belonged to Simon, who made two pre-season appearances for his new club ahead of their debut campaign in Ligue 1.

Simon originally joined Nantes on loan from Levante in 2019, securing a permanent deal the following year. Over six seasons, he became a cornerstone of the team, scoring 37 goals and providing 42 assists in 201 appearances.
His influence was critical in helping Nantes win the 2022 Coupe de France and reaches the final again in 2023.
A fan favourite at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Simon also played a vital role in ensuring the club’s Ligue 1 survival across multiple seasons.
His most recent campaign was especially productive, as he recorded eight goals and ten assists in 2024/25, helping Nantes secure a 13th -place finish.
