Governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have convened a critical meeting today with the acting National Chairman, Amb Umar Damagum, and the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, as part of efforts to address ongoing internal challenges.
The meeting precedes a National Executive Committee (NEC) session slated for Thursday, where the Olagunsoye Oyinlola-led reconciliation committee is expected to provide updates on its findings and propose recommendations to strengthen party unity.
Oyinlola, speaking after a recent session with the PDP National Assembly caucus, emphasized the importance of unity for electoral success.

“For any party to enter into a political battle and win, it must be united. That’s what we’re aiming for,” he stated, reflecting on discussions aimed at understanding the party’s declining fortunes.
The former Osun State governor also assured that strategies are being refined ahead of the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, as the party seeks to reconcile aggrieved members.
