Men of the Ogun state police command have confirmed the arrest of a suspected armed robber in the state.

The suspect, who is said to be a member of a notorious armed robbery syndicate was arrested following credible intelligence.
Men of the Ogun state police command have secured the arrest of a suspected armed robber.
According to reports, the suspect, identified as Jonah Onah was said to have been arrested at their hideout in the Olomore area of Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state.

Confirming the arrest via a phone call to PUNCH the Police PRO, Omolola Odutola noted that the police received an intelligence, which led to the raid of a criminal hideout in the area.

She said,
“The Divisional Police Officer of the Lafenwa Division successfully apprehended a notorious criminal, Jonah Onah, on October 23, 2024, at 9:50 PM during a raid operation based on reliable intelligence.
“Onah was apprehended at Olomore, an area known for criminal activities. He is believed to be part of a criminal group specialising in offences such as theft and pickpocketing.”
She further added that efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining fleeing members of the gang, adding that some exhibits recovered from the suspect include a decoy gun and a jackknife.
“The police recovered a decoy gun and a jackknife from him.”
“Discreet investigations aim to apprehend other members of this syndicate has commenced,” Odutola concluded
