The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has said President Bola Tinubu appointed Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) because of his capacity.
Senator Akpabio said despite Wike being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Tinubu was pleased with his performance when he was Rivers State Governor.
He stated this on Friday during a book launch in marking Wike’s 57th birthday, in Port Harcourt.
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio said Wike in two years has transformed the capital city with projects.
