This comes after a collapsed tanker exploded in Niger State, claiming 100 lives in the process.
Photos making rounds online has showed moments residents troop out to scoop fuel from a collapsed petrol truck.
According to reports, the tanker fell down in the Jalingo area of Taraba state on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Confirming the incident, an eyewitness said the taker had collapsed on the ground, spilling it’s content on the ground.

He added that residents came out to scoop the fuel ignoring the dangers before the police and the NSCDC came to disperse them.
This happened around 11am today, Wednesday.
Daily Report Nigeria recalls a similar event in which a patrol tanker which fell down burst into flames.
In the incident which happened in Niger State, operatives were attempting to turn fuel from the collapsed tanker to a new tanker when it exploded.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the NSCDC, Illia Samuel said
“Immediately we got information about the accident, the command drafted our men to the scene to avert any occurrences that could lead to casualties. We are going to ensure that the area is safe for both residents and travelers,”
He added that the driver of the truck sustained an injury, and had been rushed to an hospital.
