The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Monday, October 21, urged residents of Southeast to ignore the sit-at-home order issued by a yet-to-be-identified group.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The IPOB in a statement denied that such an order emanated from pro-Biafra group.

Recall that audio and video notes had been circulating warning residents in the region to stay away from the streets.

The warning also urged parents and guardians to keep their children away from schools. Markets and shop owners were also warned against opening their shops and come out to sell their wares.

The notes threatened to deal with anyone who fails to abide by the sit-at-home order which would last for two days, from Monday, October 21, to Tuesday October 22.

However, in its reaction, the IPOB urged residents to go about their normal activities.

The IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful said, “IPOB did not declare any sit-at-home order on October 21 and 22. The illegal order is from criminal elements and Finland-based infiltrators who are not our members.

Powerful urged the people to ignore the order as the IPOB do not engage in creating panic among the people.

He said, “Biafrans must understand that IPOB does not declare unnecessary sit-at-home. We have since suspended it and anybody declaring it is a criminal element that should be ignored.

“We didn’t want to talk about it again in order to avoid giving undue popularity to the inconsequential order from Finland-based infiltrators,” Powerful added.
