A 15-year-old boy from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, has tragically died after undergoing a complex five-hour surgery to remove 56 metal objects from his stomach.

Despite doctors’ best efforts, the teenager, Aditya Sharma, succumbed to complications from the surgery.

The objects, which included razor blade fragments, chains, screws, and batteries, weighed a total of 350 grams. Aditya’s health issues began on October 13 when he began experiencing severe stomach pain and difficulty breathing.

Aditya’s condition worsened after the surgery when an infection spread into his intestine, causing it to rupture. The infection ultimately led to his death on October 28, two weeks after his symptoms first appeared.

The circumstances surrounding how the objects ended up in his stomach remain unclear. Neither Aditya’s mouth nor throat showed any signs of injury, leaving both his family and the medical community puzzled as to whether the ingestion of the objects was intentional or accidental.

Dr. Anil Kumar, one of the surgeons involved in the operation, described the situation as “highly unusual and distressing.” He also called for a thorough investigation into the cause of the teenager’s health issues.
