The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has denied allegations that President Bola Tinubu interferes in its operations or influences key appointments.
According to Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, “employment, promotions, appointments, and movements of business leaders at the NNPC are not influenced by ethnicity, tribe, religion, or political affiliation.”
Soneye stated that decisions within the NNPCL “are guided strictly by merit, business requirements, and expertise.” He also emphasized that the company operates independently, with President Tinubu’s administration introducing policies that have added value to the oil and gas sector.
The NNPCL spokesman described the company as a professional organisation with a diverse leadership lineup, including individuals from various parts of the world.
