TRAGEDY: 1 Dead, 11 Injured In Ogun Auto Crash

• One death has been confirmed, in a ghastly road accident in Ogun state.

• The accident was reported to have happened on Eid Fitr day, leaving 11 others injured.

A ghastly auto crash in Ogun state has turned the Eid Fitr celebration day into a mourning day.

According to reports, a vehicle was said to have lost one of its tire, leading to a loss of control.

The accident reportedly happened at Five Star area in Ogijo, Ogun State.

Eyewitnesses who confirmed the incident noted that it occurred between a truck with registration number GBE 243 XB and a Mazda bus registered as KSF 542 YG, happened around 6:15 a.m. on Sunday, the Eid-il-fitr day.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi noted that the truck suddenly lost it’s right there, leading to a collision between it and an 18 seater bus.

The victims had been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

He said,

“Thirteen people were involved in the accident, including two persons in the truck and 11 persons in the Mazda bus. One person was recorded dead while 11 persons were injured.

“According to the truck driver, the accident was caused by his truck due to a sudden burst of his front right tyre that led the truck to lose control and hit a stationed 18-seater Mazda bus that was picking passengers from the rear.”
