A man is currently under heat, following the assault of a young boy in Nasarawa state.

The victim, identified as Ukasha, an orphan was allegedly assaulted by his uncle and guardian, Mai-Naira Abdullahi, leaving deep cuts on his body.

This happened on Saturday, 12th April in Mai-Naira Abdullahi, in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

While calling on security operatives and the state government, an human rights group, Men Against R3pe Foundation (MARF) condemned the act.

The group further added that the young boy was flogged after he attended a neighbor’s naming ceremony, and was seen dancing with other children and women.

This angered the uncle, who resorted to punishing him.

The child confirmed in a brief interview that he received no pain relief or medical treatment following the beating.

In a statement released by the body, the executive director, Dr Lemmy Ughegbe called on the governor of the state, Abdullahi Sule to move swiftly, so as to rescue the boy.

“This is not an isolated case. Only in February this year, a student at a well-known Islamic school in Lafia was reportedly flogged to death, yet the matter was buried without justice,”
