Controversial activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly apologized to renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, and his son, rapper Falz, for mistakenly involving them in his allegations against crossdresser Bobrisky.

The apology came during a session before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes on September 30, 2024.

VeryDarkMan expressed regret over implicating Falana in claims of bribery related to Bobrisky, stating, “Apparently, now, some people are taking advantage of what is going to target Femi Falana. Here, I apologize. It’s so sad that his name was inside that audio. I couldn’t believe as well; that is the part that irritated me more.”

He urged Falz to reconsider the lawsuit he filed against him and join forces in the fight against corruption.

In a social media post, he implored, “@falzthebahdguy if you see the nonzenze when dey go on here you go drop lawsuit make we focus on the bad eggs.”

The controversy erupted following the release of an audio recording allegedly featuring Bobrisky, where claims were made about Falana assisting in securing a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for 10 million Naira.

In response, Falz and his father threatened legal action, demanding a retraction of the defamation claims.

While addressing the issue, VeryDarkMan defended his actions, emphasizing that the recordings were meant to prompt a thorough investigation into Bobrisky’s assertions rather than to defame Falana.

He reiterated his respect for Falana’s contributions to human rights advocacy, stating, “Your father Femi Falana remains our father in the struggle.”

The EFCC has also stepped in, launching an investigation into the allegations of bribery against its officials related to Bobrisky.
