Why APC May Postpone NEC Meeting to 2025 – Source | Daily Report Nigeria

The All Progressives Congress (APC), under the leadership of Abdullahi Ganduje, may delay its inaugural National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting until 2025, according to sources within the party.

The postponement is attributed to President Bola Tinubu’s busy schedule and current absence from the country.

An insider revealed, “As we speak, Mr. President is not back in the country. This was also the reason we had to annul the initial September dates for the NEC meeting.” With only two months left in the year and the December festive period approaching, holding the meeting this year appears increasingly unlikely.

This announcement follows the earlier indefinite postponement of the party’s National Caucus and NEC meetings, initially scheduled for September 11 and 12. While no specific reasons were provided for the earlier delays, sources indicated that Tinubu’s absence was a significant factor.

National Deputy Organising Secretary Nze Chidi Duru and National Legal Adviser Abdulkareem Kana confirmed that no new date for the NEC meeting has been set, stating they cannot proceed without guidance from the President.
