  • Men of the Bayelsa state police command have confirmed the arrest of a man for murder.

The Bayelsa state police force have arrested one Godwin, a 22-year-old for the murder of his mother.

According to reports from PUNCH, Godwin had committed the crime in late November but only came to light this week following multiple videos on social media.

The incident was reported to have happened in the Elebele Community near Yenagoa in Ogbia Local Government Area.

Neighbors reported the issue to the police, after numerous sound of struggle between the mother and her son, and when they rushed in to settle the fight, they found the woman in her own pool of blood.

Community source explained that Godwin had arrived his mother’s house from Edo state, where he was reportedly receiving training in a Yahoo Yahoo centre, popularly known as HK.

Also confirming the incident, the youth president of the community, Precious Okala said;

On getting to the scene, we saw the bloodied corpse of the deceased woman and his son who had been tied by the youths of the community.

“We were told that since the boy came back from Benin City, Edo State, he had been behaving strangely. On the fateful day, he was reported to have had a struggle with his mother and stabbed her in the stomach with a knife.

“The boy was heard saying that one ‘Baba’ had told him that the mother was in possession of his destiny and wealth.”

The state command’s PRO, Musa Mohammed noted that the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a detailed investigation.
