Nollywood actor-turned-preacher Yul Edochie has expressed concerns that Nigerians have been brainwashed by biblical narratives.

He criticized the public for their extensive knowledge of biblical figures while remaining largely ignorant of their own ancestral heritage.

In a recent post on his Facebook page, Yul emphasized the importance of rediscovering Nigeria’s cultural identity and exploring local historical narratives instead of focusing solely on figures like Moses, Isaac, and Jacob.

He stated, “We have been brainwashed to know everything about Moses, Isaac, Jacob, and the people of Israel. Yet we know nothing about our ancestors, their achievements, and the great individuals in our lineage. If you don’t know who you are and where you come from, you will never know where you are going.”

Earlier in January 2024, Yul Edochie launched his own church, named ‘True Salvation Ministry’ (TSM).
