The extension was approved after presentation of a report by Special Commitee led by the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Adamu Gummi which was mandated to screen the interim administrators before their confirmation.

All the fourteen local government interim administrators appeared before the committee during the screening.

LEADERSHIP recalls that Governor Dauda Làwal had on April 24, 2024 sent a communication through the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada, seeking the jod of the House to extend the tenure of the administrators by six by months.

Upon receiving the Governor’s letter, the House invited all the 14 interim administrators for screening.

The Speaker, Honourable Bilyaminu Moriki, announced the unanimous approval of the House and confirmation of extension of the 14 Local government interim administrators for another six months as requested by Governor Lawal.

Hon. Moriki charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by ensuring justice and fairplay to the people in their respective LGAs.
