In the heartfelt post, Annie described how she would take detours on her way to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) just to pass through Surulere, a hub for Nollywood marketing, to spot her face on new movie posters.

“Plus! Damn… I remember how I usually took the long route, driving to school (UNILAG), so that I could check all the recent movie posters through Surulere to see if any of my new movies were out and if they put my face on the posters!” she wrote.

She went on to explain that landing roles wasn’t her only goal — she was also hoping marketers would deem her image strong enough to be featured on the front of posters, a key marker of popularity in the Nollywood industry.

“The dream then wasn’t just to get the roles but to pray that the marketers would see your face as sellable enough to make the front poster!”

Annie, who has since risen to fame not only as an actress but also as the wife of music icon 2Baba, said she is now living in the reality she once prayed for.

“And grace found me! Now na dem dey rush us o. Now, na we dey choose which kain film we put our energy, our face and even our name o. Pow pow pow pow.”

Her post has since sparked admiration from fans and fellow actors, many of whom praised her perseverance and growth over the years.

Annie’s journey mirrors that of many actors who began in obscurity but pushed through with hard work, prayer, and faith in their craft. Today, she is not only a fixture in Nollywood but also an inspiration to rising talents across the industry.

Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has showered praises on her former daughter-in-law, May Yul Edochie, while delivering a strong message to critics and those she described as haters.

In a passionate Instagram post, Rita urged the public to steer clear of mocking individuals who carry divine grace, stressing that such grace has the power to disgrace those who oppose it.
