Arsenal have signed Euro 2024 winner Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for around £55 million, making him their second big summer buy.

Once linked with Liverpool and Real Madrid, Zubimendi has agreed a five-year deal to shore up Mikel Arteta’s midfield after Thomas Partey and Jorginho moved on.

After graduating from Sociedad’s academy, the 26-year-old amassed 236 first-team appearances and 19 Spain caps.
He’s applauded for his steady ball control, keen vision and unwavering defensive instincts.

His arrival will enable Declan Rice and Captain Martin Ødegaard to move forward.
