
Nine passengers were kidnapped following an armed attack on a Peace Mass Transit bus along the Itobe–Anyagba Expressway in Kogi State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared details of the incident on X on Friday, stating that the attack occurred around 4:20 p.m. near Ogbabo Junction.

“The attackers, believed to be armed hoodlums, suddenly emerged from the bush, fired shots, and forced the Peace Mass Transit bus to stop,” Makama wrote.
The bus driver, Sunday Okechi, along with six passengers, managed to escape, but nine others were taken into the bush by the assailants.
Security forces quickly responded and discovered the abandoned Peace Mass Transit bus, registered ENZ-55 XS, alongside a blue Toyota Carina ‘E’ at the scene. Both vehicles have been secured by the authorities.
Members of security agencies, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, and local hunters have launched a search and rescue operation aimed at freeing the kidnapped passengers and apprehending the gunmen.
