Popular media influencer Scott Iguma has been remanded in prison following his recent accusations against real estate firm, PWAN.

On Thursday afternoon, the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikoyi ordered that Iguma be held in custody until Monday. This development comes a day after the media personality was arrested and detained at Panti Police Station over claims he made on social media.

In a video shared on Instagram, Nigerian singer Kokopee, who was present at the court, confirmed Iguma’s remand.

“I’m here in Ikoyi, sadly Scott has been remanded till Monday. He has been remanded for fighting for people. You have a problem with the way he has done it? Did he kill someone? Did he commit a crime?” Kokopee questioned.

He added, “In Lagos I thought they said defamation is not a crime?”

Earlier in the week, Iguma had taken to Instagram to accuse PWAN of fraudulent activities, claiming the company issues customers with only receipts instead of actual land allocations.

“PWAN sells receipts for customers instead of land. I was at the EFCC again yesterday to submit another 25 petitions against PWAN. So we now have a total of 130 petitions from customers that have been sent to the EFCC against PWAN,” he wrote.

He also revealed that more alleged victims continue to reach out. “And we have about 30 victims that we have not filed their petition. Day after day, more victims are still coming to my DM and telling me the atrocities that they have gone through,” he added.

Before his arrest, Iguma had also accused the owner of PWAN of using influential police officers to silence customers who speak up about their experiences.

As of now, PWAN has not released an official response to the allegations.

Authorities in Ondo State have arrested a landlord and two other suspects in connection with the abduction and brutal killing of two undergraduates from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

The development was confirmed on Wednesday in Akure by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adebowale Lawal, during a press briefing where he outlined recent breakthroughs recorded by the command.
