The development comes one month after the controversial singer failed to honour an invitation by the agency over a disturbing comment he made during an Instagram live session, where he claimed to have had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.
A letter dated May 28, 2025, and signed by the Head of NAPTIP’s Cybercrime Response Team, Ngamaraju Mangzha, was addressed to Okoye, directing him to appear at the agency’s Abuja headquarters on May 30 by 9:00 a.m.
However, findings by PUNCH revealed that Okoye was absent at the agency’s Wuse Zone 5 office on the scheduled day.
Following his absence, NAPTIP received a formal response from the singer, in which he requested a change of date.
“Hello, I will not be able to come in today. This is very sudden and urgent for me. I already have commitments and responsibilities. I suggest you reschedule for next month, June 26. I will be in Abuja that day,” he wrote.
Despite giving a new date, PUNCH confirmed during a follow-up visit to the NAPTIP headquarters on June 26 that the singer once again failed to show up.
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has adjusted the opening date for its 2025 recruitment portal, which was initially scheduled to go live on Thursday, June 26.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Secretary to the Board, the portal will now open on Monday, July 14, 2025, with the new official link for applications being https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
