Today Thursday, Manchester United announced that Wyn Davies died at 83.

“We are saddened to learn of the passing of Wyn Davies and extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones,” – the club said.

Born in Caernarfon in 1942, Wyn Davies kicked off his career at Wrexham before powering his way to prominence at Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United, where fans nicknamed him “Wyn the Leap.”

He spent the 1971 season at Manchester City, and in 1972 United brought him in for about £65,000.

Wyn Davies, former Manchester United and Wales striker, has died at 83.

Internationally, Wyn Davies garnered 34 caps for Wales.

He will always be remembered by fans and teammates for being a forceful presence on the pitch.
