A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Saleh Zazzaga, has called for the immediate resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, over alleged violations of the party’s constitution and zoning arrangement.
Zazzaga, who is the chairman of the North-Central APC Forum, issued a 7-day ultimatum to Ganduje, threatening legal action if he fails to step down.
“Ganduje’s appointment as National Chairman is a violation of the party’s constitution and zoning arrangement. He is from the North-West region, whereas the chairmanship was zoned to the North-Central geopolitical zone,” Zazzaga said in a statement.

“This has brought the party to disrepute, deepened divisions amongst members, and affected the party’s chances of winning elections. I call for his immediate resignation to allow for the appointment of a new chairman from the North-Central zone,” he added.
Zazzaza also expressed disappointment that Ganduje is standing trial for corruption, describing it as “a embarrassment to the party”.
“Ganduje’s continued stay as National Chairman is a liability to the party. I urge him to resign now and allow the party to move forward,” Zazzaga said.
