Many Missing as Bandits Launch Fresh Attack in Benue

Armed bandits disrupted Jummat prayers in Dan-Ali, a community in the Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, leaving worshippers in panic as gunfire rang out across multiple mosques.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers stormed the area on Friday, forcing congregants to flee mid-prayer. A community member, who wished to remain anonymous, described the chaos: “We were at the Jummat prayer when we heard the shooting, and everybody ran. We couldn’t hold our prayers again. Thanks to the Security Watch Corps in the area that gave them a hot chase.”

The source further emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “We need reinforcement because the bandits are giving us a tough time in our communities as we speak.”

This attack comes amid a broader wave of violence, with bandits reportedly preventing farmers from accessing their lands in Dan-Ali and neighboring areas such as Gwarjo and Dangane.
