BREAKING: APP Wins 22 Out of 23 Council Areas in Rivers LG Poll

The Action Peoples Party (APP) has won 22 chairmanship seats out of 23 in Saturday’s local government election Rivers State.

The Rivers LG poll held on Saturday across the 23 Council Areas in the state amid protest from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This was announced by the Chief Election Officer of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, on Saturday evening in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Declaring the results, Enebili said the announcement declaration of the entire result is pending because the collation of votes was still ongoing in the Etche Local Government Area.

Enebeli said the results for Etche LGA will be declared alongside that of the 319 councillorship seats at a later date.

Recall that Governor Simi Fubara had directed all council chairmen aspirants to pick nomination forms of the APP prior to the poll.
