Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has acknowledged that his team is not yet ready to challenge Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
Despite Chelsea’s strong start under his leadership, currently sitting in fourth place, Maresca believes that his side still has a long way to go before they can compete with the league’s best.
Liverpool currently leads the table, with City and Arsenal both level on 14 points, but Maresca sees the long-term stability of those clubs as key to their success.

“I don’t think we can compete with City and Arsenal at the moment,” Maresca admitted. “City has had the same manager for nine years, Arsenal for five. To compete at their level, you need that time. It’s a big difference.”
Enzo Maresca emphasized that Chelsea’s goal is steady improvement rather than immediate competition with the top teams.
“We’re not ready to compete with them now, but the target is to get better and gradually close the gap. The longer you work together, the better you become,” he added.
