A rather interesting case has been heard before an area court in Kwara state about the dissolve of a marriage.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the wife, Bashirat Mohammed had taken her husband, Toyin Ajibola to the area court in Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, Kwara State on grounds of lack of money.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the presiding judge, Hamas Anumobi proceeded to dissolve the marriage even though Toyin didn’t want to depart with his wife.

Anumobi added that the woman would be handed full custody of the children, be is to observe the three months iddah (waiting) period before remarrying, and also ordered Toyin to be responsible for the feeding of their children.

While speaking on the major reason for divorce, Bashirat said she was tired of the marriage, particularly about her husband’s lack of money and irresponsibility.

“I want the court to grant me divorce so that I can have rest of mind,” she said.

The husband, however, told the court that he was still interested in his wife even though he was financially handicapped.

“I have been trying hard to get money to feed my family, but couldn’t.

“It is so painful that I can’t get money to visit her and the children when they left home,” he said
