Sean “Diddy” Combs Seeks Trump Pardon After Conviction on Prostitution Charges

4 weeks ago 8

Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking a presidential pardon from Donald Trump following his recent conviction on federal charges related to prostitution.

The 55-year-old was found guilty last month by a New York jury on two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years, with his sentencing scheduled for October 3.

Although he was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, the trial was marked by weeks of emotional testimony and disturbing allegations. While the acquittals offered partial relief, the conviction remains a major legal blow for Combs.

On Tuesday, one of his attorneys, Nicole Westmoreland, confirmed that efforts were underway to seek clemency. Speaking with CNN, she said, “It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” suggesting that discussions with Trump’s team had already been initiated.

However, former President Trump has signaled he is not inclined to grant the request. In an interview with Newsmax last Friday, he acknowledged past ties with the rapper but questioned Combs’ political stance in recent years.

“I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great, and he seemed like a nice guy,” Trump said. “I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile.” When asked if he would consider a pardon, Trump responded, “I would say so, yeah,” implying rejection.

While high-profile clemency appeals are not uncommon, Combs’ outspoken criticism of Trump during his presidency could complicate his request. The political tension between both men may influence Trump’s final decision.

As the sentencing date approaches, Combs’ legal team is expected to pursue all possible avenues, including a formal appeal and continued efforts for clemency.

The case remains a focal point in public discourse, with widespread attention on how Trump responds to the pardon plea—and what it could mean for Combs’ future.

Veteran Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has denied claims by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) that he violated boarding procedures at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

FAAN had accused the 68-year-old singer of attempting to board a ValueJet Airlines flight to Lagos with an “unidentified liquid substance,” allegedly refusing to comply with warnings from both aviation security personnel and the aircraft’s captain. According to the agency, the musician also allegedly spilled alcohol on officials when they tried to inspect the flask he was carrying.
