•Disciplinary Committee Set to Investigate Allegations of Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to discipline Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over alleged infractions that could undermine the party’s unity.

This development follows increasing tensions within the party, particularly relating to Wike’s recent actions deemed contrary to PDP’s principles.

Umar Sani, Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former Vice President Namadi Sambo, confirmed that a disciplinary committee led by Chief Tom Ikimi has been formed to investigate Wike’s conduct.

Sani emphasized, “Wike is not above the party,” and stated that the committee will address any violations of party rules.

In a recent appearance on Arise TV, Sani remarked, “The issue has been oversimplified as a clash between Abubakar Atiku and Nyesom Wike. The real driving force is the awakening of the Governors’ Forum, which is now actively working to resolve the crisis.”

The allegations against Wike stem from a series of petitions regarding anti-party activities, especially during the party’s primary elections.

PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, revealed that Wike has been summoned to appear before the committee.

“Three weeks ago, we established both reconciliation and disciplinary committees. Nyesom Wike is one of the members summoned to face the disciplinary committee, which will scrutinize these allegations,” Abdullahi stated.

Despite existing court orders that may prevent the removal of party officials, Sani noted that the party retains the right to suspend members.
